Come experience the joy of making music with Studio 216! The benefits of studying an instrument and creating music are endless. I would love to be a part of your musical journey! I have been teaching music for more than 25 years. I currently teach piano and theory in my home in Woodbine, Calgary. There are spaces available for students aged 5 and up for private lessons. I work with students of all ages and stages! At Studio 216, we take a comprehensive approach to music education as we learn to play the piano. Music literacy, healthy technique, composition, music theory, movement, singing and ear training, performance preparation, accompaniment skills (and more) are all part of our lessons. In addition to a weekly private lesson specifically tailored to each student, we also work together regularly in supportive group classes, ensemble playing, and theory classes. This balance of private lessons with a group component sets the studio apart and accelerates learning, plus adds a whole lot of fun! I believe music is meant to be made with friends and family. I received a Bachelor of Music (with Honours) from Memorial University and a Master of Music Education from the University of Oklahoma, where I also received a campus-wide Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award. I've been playing piano and making music my whole life, and now I get to experience music-making with my own 3 young children. It would be a pleasure to meet you and see if we might be a good fit.
