Dr. Li Liu


About

Dr. Liu is an NYSSMA adjudicator. She is invited to be the Chairwoman of the International Maestro Piano Competition in 2018, 2019, and 2021. Dr. Liu received her Doctoral Degree in Musical Arts from Michigan State University, Master's Degree in Music from the Manhattan School of Music. Dr. Liu has been teaching for many years and is very proud of her students. Her students won International Piano and Strings Competition, Concert Festival International Competition, New York International Competition for Young Artist, Crescendo International Youth Music Competition, TOYOTA Piano Competition, Hong Kong Piano Competition, and some of them were invited to perform in the Weil Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall. Dr. Liu is an active pianist. She received many prizes, including first place in the American Piano and String Competition, Chinese Government Scholarship, 2nd Prize of 14th Hong Kong-Asia Piano Open Competition, etc. She has been consistently performed solo recitals, chamber recitals, duo-piano recitals, and concertos as soloist and accompanist throughout Mainland China, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, and the United States. Dr. Liu has performed at many prestigious concert halls around the world. She played BeethovenНs сEmperorо Concerto Op. 73 and RachmaninoffНs Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with Tianjin Philharmonic Orchestra in Tianjin Concert Hall (Tianjin). She played Beethoven Piano Concerto No.1 Op. 15 and No. 4 Op. 58 at the Sydney Music Festival in Australia. She played Mozart's piano works at Bard College in New York. She performed at the 21st Century Pianist Concert Showcase at The Alan M. and Joan Taub Ades Performance Space in Manhattan School of Music (New York). She played and duo-piano recital and solo recital in Greenfield Hall in Manhattan School of Music (New York). She won the concerto competition and played MendelssohnНs Piano Concerto Op. 25 with the MSU Philharmonic Orchestra in Fairchild Theater (Michigan). Dr. Liu performed a chamber recital and two solo recitals in Lansing MSU Auditorium (Michigan), two solo recitals in Cook Hall (Michigan), a lecture-recital in Hart Hall (Michigan). Dr. Liu also performed at Neidorff-Karpati Hall (New York), The Gordon K. and Harriet Greenfield Hall (New York), The William R. and Irene D. Miller Recital Hall (New York), Yale Club (New York), Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre (Rochester), China National Center for the Performing Arts (Beijing), Shanghai Grand Theatre (Shanghai), Shanghai Oriental Art Center (Shanghai), Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (Hong Kong) and Hong Kong Performing Arts Center (Hong Kong), etc. She was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall.
