Dr. Shawn Daly
SHAWN DALY holds degrees in music from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA and Syracuse University. In 2007, he was awarded a Doctor of Musical Arts from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Dr. Daly has been heard in recitals and broadcasts throughout the U. S., including performances on Cincinnati public radio, on Chicago's WFMT from the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts, and on the Civic Morning Musical Concerts in Syracuse. Other concerts include the Annual American Music Festival at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, and the artist series at Earlham College. More recently, his engagements have included the “Pianists of the World” Concerts at London’s historic St. Martin-in-the-Fields, the Music at Earlsdon Series (UK), the University of Warwick (UK) and the Ole Bull Festival at New York’s Merkin Concert Hall. He is a recipient of the Faye & John Abild Prize in American Music from the National Federation of Music Clubs. An active church musician, Dr. Daly's liturgical expertise includes the Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, and Lutheran traditions. He has held many prestigious ecclesiastical appointments, most recently at the Basilica & National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio. Currently he is principal cantor at SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Punxsutawney, PA and an instructor at the Metropolitan Cantor Institute of the Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh. He is the proprietor of Daly Music Studio in DuBois, PA.
