Arthur Lipner Music

Music can provide so much joy in our lives. It connects us with friends, family, cultures, the world around us...and ourselves! My adult-aged students enjoy discovering/re-discovering a musical dimension of themselves which, in turn, enriches their lives and the lives of those around them. All students, especially younger ones, follow this simple rule: practice and progress will be made. Over the years I've seen this proven time and time again. Younger students with a solid practice routine have more fun, progress and personal growth. Without practice students become intimidated, bored and may end up quitting after a brief period. As the parent of two children (now grown), I know all too well that quitting sends its own message. I enjoy working with young students (7 yrs old min, with the occasional exception) who are interested. In partnership with parental guidelines of structure and commitment, we can do great things! Electronic keyboards are acceptable for beginners. My enrollment is based on the school year. Students perform in recital at the end of May. Students are encouraged to compose and perform their own music. I strongly recommend, but do not require, participation in the Young Musicians Festival (mid-March at Fairfield Univ, Feel free to contact me via email/phone for a free consult. I look forward to getting to know you and your prospective student!
