Alan Wasserman plays and teaches piano music ranging from classical to jazz and loves sharing the musical experience with people. Alan has performed a wide variety of musical genres in an array of venues. He is equally comfortable lecturing at Steinway Hall in New York as entertaining at Health Spas. Presenting programs at pre-schools through retirement communities, Alan receives enthusiastic response from people of all ages. While attending the first International Music Pedagogy Conference at MoscowНs famed Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 1991, he was one of the few Americans in Russia at the time of the coup that led to the collapse of the Soviet Union. Recently, as President of the historic Cecilian Music Club, he led a group of 40 American students in joining 60 Chinese students to perform a 100 Piano сMonsterо concert in Shanghai, China. As a 28 year participant of the Dorothy Taubman Institute of Piano and Edna Golandsky Institute Summer Sessions, he has helped many pianists that have become injured through inefficient finger and arm motions. His private piano students range from 5 year old through octogenarians. He continues to create a set of recordings called the сGuided Listening Seriesо which feature short explanations before each piece. He is also a Chi Kung and Tai Chi player, a black belt in Tai Kwon Do, and a student of yoga.

Education Studied with international pedagogue Edna Golandsky, in part under the direction of Dorothy Taubman (28 year participant in the Taubman/Golandsky Piano Institutes), and world-class performers Alan Feinberg, Misha Portnoff, Veda Zuponcic, and R Bravo.
Awards Performed in Europe, China, and Russia; in New York City at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall and other venues; as well as museums, libraries and events in New Jersey. He frequently lectures and serves as judge for piano competitions. Also judged Miss NJ
